Saying NO to
Outside Influences
Building an online business of any type is going
to involve dedication to yourself, and to the business. While you may be
working online to spend more time with your children or if you are working
at home to care for someone who is sick, you still must learn to say no to
those other outside forces that are going to try to take more additional
advantage of your time.
Your time is valuable. You want to get online,
list a few new products, answer a few customer questions or do a little bit
of marketing for the day, but you can't because the phone continues to ring
and friends want to talk, take a walk or have you watch their children. You
are going to have to learn to say no, and be very strict with this. If you
were working for anyone else, you would not be asked to 'do these things'
and your friends and family would not be calling you as often to take care
of these things for them.

Saying no when you can
is important so you can focus on the task at hand and then you can focus
on your family or other tasks you want to complete. You have set your time
online in a manner so you get those things done that you need to get done.
Without saying no to others you are putting yourself in last place which
is not where you want to be!
Use your caller id! Don't pick up the phone
if you are working or if you are under those strict timelines you have set
for yourself to get things done for your business. If you only have four
hours to work while your child is at preschool or you have one hour to complete
a task before heading out to a see someone at the ball game, you need to
get your business taken care of, without talking about dinner on the phone
with a friend, and without watching someone's child while they go shopping.
Set limits and stick to those limits you set for yourself and for your business,
you will see more results, more often and your business will grow.
