Bringing Home the Bacon: Extra
Money for Stay-at-Home Moms
Motherhood is a blessing that cannot be topped
by any of life's other joys. There is nothing more special than the sacred
moments a child can bring to our lives. From a baby's first steps to a child's
first day of school, we want to be there to see everything. As wonderful
as it is to watch our children grow and develop, there remains one small
problem. The love of a child cannot pay the bills.
Though it is impossible for us to stay at home
with our kids and work fulltime in the outside workforce, there are many
ways for us to earn a decent living from home. Working from home does require
a certain amount of discipline and effort, and there are times when it seems
like it will be impossible to make ends meet. However, if you can find an
at-home job that truly captures your interest, you will be able to tell your
children all about the "Three Little Pigs" and still have enough time to
bring home the bacon.

When it comes to job opportunities for stay-at-home
moms, there will not be a shortage any time in the near future. From direct
sales to daycare centers, there are multitudes of ways for you to spend time
with your kids while you earn a decent living. The amount of money you make
and the amount of effort you must put into your job will depend on how many
hours you are willing to work. Some at-home jobs will require you to work
a full-time schedule while others might require you to work for an hour a
day. Once you know how much time you can realistically give, you will have
a much better idea of what kind of job is right for you.
If you would like to work full-time hours without
leaving your children alone for the day, you might want to consider running
a daycare center out of your home. Believe it or not, the majority of daycare
centers are run by stay-at-home moms, and not by large companies or corporations.
Since you plan to stay home with your children, it should not be much trouble
for you to take on a few extra children, too. While you will certainly need
to stock up on more food and toys, the rest of your routine should be almost
the same as it was without the additional children. You can still set your
children down to watch some educational television, play outside, and learn
a thing or two. The only difference is that your kids will have playmates
and you will have some extra money.
