How to Make Things Better
First of all, you need to take control of your
home front and reduce as much tension as possible. Here are some proven
tips:
-
Get some rest. Sleep
is extremely important and should not be denied. So, you must make getting
adequate rest and relaxation a priority. If you have a hard time getting
to bed at a reasonable time, gradually adjust your bedtime until you get
it right so that you can enjoy 6-8 of uninterrupted sleep each and every
night!
-
Organize
yourself. Place things you will require in their own special place, such
as your keys, briefcase, purse, important papers, school supplies for your
children, and letters to be mailed. This will ensure that you'll be able
to find them quickly and effortlessly. Arrange to do all your errands on
specific days. For instance, you might choose Monday as your grocery and
toiletry day and you will then only shop for groceries, personal and household
items on this day! This will save you time and energy and will ensure that
you don't get stressed out trying to do too much!
-
Preparation is the key. Every evening, make
sure that you prepare for the next day. For instance, pack your child's lunch
(or have then do it), pick out and iron your clothes the night before (if
they're wrinkled), tidy up and put away dirty dishes, lay out food for the
next night's dinner or place frozen items that require thawing in the fridge,
etc. This will assist you in avoiding the morning rush and will start your
day on a positive and upbeat note.
-
Wake up early enough.
Use an alarm clock and this will ensure that you don't oversleep. Instead,
wake up early so that you can prepare for the day. Although it is tempting
to oversleep, this will simply lead to stress. But if you get up early, you'll
be able to do some morning exercise, meditations or simply relax before the
rest of your family gets up.
-
Delegate,
delegate, delegate. Ask your husband or significant other to assist you
with household chores, preparing lunches, cleaning up and/or making dinner.
If your children are old enough, you should also train them to prepare their
own lunches. This will help free up some time and alleviate stress.
-
Enjoy your family time. Also plan and take some
time for yourself and to spend with your family. Plan frequent "massage or
spa" days for yourself, "date nights" with your hubby or significant other,
and "family night" with the kids. This will not only improve your confidence
and relationships but will give you a sense of completeness and prove that
there is more to life than work!
In conclusion, it isn't easy being a working lady, and it is hard to balance
work and family. However, if you can arrange your lifestyle to cope with
the various home-related stresses, you can easily balance her work and family
issues and enjoy your time with your family.
